MEMBER BENEFITS

Members are able to attend all club meetings and may receive discounts for special club events. As members of the club you are affiliated with the National Council of Clubs(NCC). In 1999, Department 56 issued a special "NCC Clubhouse" building and accessory set available only to current members of the NCC. The piece was never sold in stores, and has our own club's logo on the front sign.

In 2000 & 2001 NCC club members have been able to purchase 5 different variations of exclusive Department 56 accessories called "Under the NCC Umbrella" along with matching pins. In 2001, members in good standing will be able to order an exclusive lit piece  -  Jack's Umbrella Shop. Again, this piece will not be available in any store.


This piece was available in yellow, red, blue, green, and silver.




OTHER MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS



We recently polled our members and asked them what they felt were the benefits of membership. The overwhelming response was the great friendships that they had formed and the opportunity to share and thus learn new display techniques.

Others listed the following as true benefits of club membership:

going places you would not ordinarily go to
getting good buys
winning prizes
access to exclusive pieces
special club nights at our sponsor stores
the camaraderie of like-minded members
new interests that were formed from sharing with other members
great planning for our meetings and our trips

One member reminded us of a very important benefit:

having many sets of eyes looking for pieces that you want and then having them be willing to buy that piece for you if it wasn’t available in your area.

MEMBER NEWS FLASH!!

November 25, 2001


Below is a picture of an EXCLUSIVE pin created by Department 56 as a fundraiser for the September 11th fund. It is a cloisonne pin with a "tie tack" back. The US flag colors are combined with the D56 logo. These are only available at the Dept 56 retail stores (Mall of America, etc) or for Department 56 employees. Department 56 has given the NCC a special opportunity to sell a limited number of these to NCC members (but there are approx 15,000 members in 200+ clubs). So, it's a first-come, first serve opportunity. All funds will go to the September 11th fund. This was announced by the NCC today to all the NCC clubs. Our club placed an order for 75 pins today and hopefully will have them for the Holiday Party. They are limited to one per member, but there will not have enough for everyone as you can see. So, if you want yours, send a check for $2 (payable to the club) to the club PO Box. One pin per MEMBER, so a couple may buy 2 if both are members. But, when they're gone, they're gone!
